Camper reviews - porlock vale campsite - exmoor national par

Stunningly beautiful place with excellent facilities and lovely host...

"Amazing campsite! Absolutely perfect place to unplug, unwind, slow down and just be!! Incredible views, beautiful countryside and superb host! Being off grid campsite does not compromise on facilities - clean flushing toilets and hot showers, washing station in a convenient barn like setting, all available but seamlessly blends in with nature! Dawn, our host, works tirelessly to provide the best service for her guests. You will meet the Exmoor ponies, Mia and Rosie - Dawn’s farm dogs aka cuddle monsters, sheep, peacocks, pheasants, birds of prey, deers and more wildlife than you can imagine, just be still and listen! We cannot recommend this campsite enough! Even our teenagers (two 18 y.o. boys) absolutely loved it! And no WiFi in sight:) We will definitely be back soon!"

For a relaxing week with amazing scenery this campsite is a must...

"We stayed in our campervan for one week at this stunning campsite. We parked up, fired up the solar panels and had a very comfortable week at this off grid campsite. The views from the campsite are to die for, wherever you decide to pitch on this spacious site. There are plenty of footpaths, bridleways and charming country lanes direct from the campsite that enabled us to walk or bike every day with no need to use our van. No two days were the same. This part of Exmoor is stunning with wild moors, beautiful forests and stunning coastline. The toilets, showers and washing up area are clean and functional. There is a chemical disposal point for Van's which you don't always get on an off grid campsite. This allowed us to stay for longer in our van. The host Dawn and her two lovely dogs are very welcoming and full of local knowledge. For a relaxing week with amazing scenery this campsite is a must."

This is semi-wild camping at its finest...

"The grandest of fields, surrounded by the most breathtaking views. Forget Kent, this is most definitely God’s County & the white church at Selworthy (seen in the distance) surely proves this.
There is ample room to find your own secluded patch & the facilities are most welcome. Dawn is the coolest & most gracious hostess & don’t forget to check out the wonderful work she is doing with Exmoor ponies.
Dawn, thank you so much for sharing your little slice of heaven…can’t wait to return."

Beautifully located, peaceful site, and the most welcoming host...

"Absolutely love this site, the views are stunning, surrounded by nothing but greenery, listening to nature and the nearby farm animals, this place is good for the soul. Dawn couldn't be nore welcoming and the facilities are exactley what you need. We will be coming back when ever we can, the dogs have made us promise ."

We liked absolutely everything about this site...

"It's location is stunning and Exmoor is only a field away. The facilities were excellent, the welcome warm and friendly and the owner is committed to restoring the natural environment, both in the high environmental standards she has set for the site and in her participation with wider greening projects in Porlock Vale."

Complete escape into peace and nature...

"Absolutely loved this site for its views and for how quiet it was. I watched the sunset colours keep changing over the sea from my bed - stunningly beautiful and a priceless experience! I watched deer grazing in the same field below me. The site has everything you need in terms of loos, hot showers and washing up areas. Dawn was extremely kind and welcoming, she keeps a great eye on the campsite."

A very special, peaceful place for those who love nature...

"This beautiful site is a very special place for those who love nature - the most relaxing, restorative camping experience we’ve ever had! Perfectly hosted too."

As soon as we arrived we knew this stay would be special...

"The views in any direction are so beautiful. We found a spot overlooking the valley that seemed so private and just for us. The campsite is so quiet, bar the sheep, cows, peacocks, owls etc, creating a peaceful, nature filled soundscape like no other. Lots of space to feel on your own and away from other campers."

Perfect for a relaxed getaway...

"The location is stunning and has great access to loads of walking routes. The facilities are exactly what you need and Dawn is very welcoming and offers good advice in where to go in the local area. I highly recommend Horner Tea Gardens for a spot of lunch."
