Exmoor National Park is an area of breathtakingly beautiful, hilly open moorland stretching across West Somerset into North Devon in South West England, which was designated a National Park in 1954. It is named after the River Exe and there are 692.8 km2 (267.5 square miles) of spectacular terrain and natural beauty - including moorland, steep combes, forests, river valleys, pretty villages, countryside and 55km (34 miles) of South West Coast Path. The largest settlements are Porlock, Dulverton, Lynton and Lynmouth.
